ECCC Offers Truckdriving Program
Earn your CDL by letting us bring the training to you at our Decatur, Louisville, and Philadelphia locations. To be eligible, you must be at least eighteen years old for an Intrastate License; twenty-one years old for an Interstate License; pass the DOT physical and drug screening; have no more than two moving traffic violations in the past two years; and no DUI’s or reckless driving convictions in the past five years.
Classes will begin on Thursday, August 1, 2013 for five to eight weeks.
Cost of the class is $2,500 which includes tuition, drug test, DOT physical, all licensing fees, and job placement assistance. Financial assistance may be available.

ECCC GED Graduation scheduled July 18
East Central Community College will hold its Summer 2013 GED Graduation Thursday, July 18, 2013, on the Decatur campus.
The semi-annual ceremony begins at 7 p.m. in Huff Auditorium.
Approximately 60 students are expected to receive their high school equivalency diplomas from ECCC President Dr. Billy Stewart, according to Ryan Clarke, Director of Adult Basic Education and GED Testing.
Three students – Brittany Perkins of Carthage and David Gerard Hebert and Stephen Hampton, both of Louisville – are scheduled to provide testimonials during the special program.
The Rev. Mark Vincent, pastor, Clarke-Venable Baptist Church in Decatur, serves as guest speaker. ECCC faculty member Natalie Emmons will provide special music.
Other program participants include ECCC Vice President for Instruction Dr. Teresa Houston, presentation of candidates for diplomas; and Adult Basic Education/GED instructor Edward McGowan, invocation/benediction.
ECCC offers free ABE/GED-Preparation classes throughout the College’s support district, which includes Leake, Neshoba, Newton, Scott and Winston counties.
