As summer blooms, the Winston County Farmers’ Market has bloomed once again with fresh success each Thursday.
The first Farmer’s Market of the Year kicked off June 13 with strong crowds and several vendors.
“People love it. We hope to continue all summer,” said Jean Harper, volunteer. “We are here to promote healthy food and healthy living and this second year has already been a blessing.”
Last year, on a good day, the market had several dozen customers looking to purchase affordable fresh fruits, vegetables, eggs, jellies, baked goods and crafts. The first market this year had 9 vendors and dozens of visitors. The June 20 Farmer’s Market will be held downtown as part of the downtown Third Thursday Merchants’ events. All other thursday’s will be held at the Louisville Coliseum.
