George Bailey is a hard-working young man whose dreams have been exchanged for the selfless consideration of others. Through a misfortunate turn of events, he is faced with ruin and possibly prison. Desperately trying to resolve the issue, he turns to his nemesis, Mr. Potter, for help.
After being turned down, George is on the verge of taking his own life when Clarence comes to the rescue. He reveals to George how his life has benefited the course of many others. George sees that his has been and is a wonderful life.
