Former Nanih Waiya High School standout Hunter Swart has been absolutely lights out when he comes in out of the bullpen for East Mississippi Community College this season.

The 6-foot-1, 220-pound sophomore right-hander had four saves and has allowed only two hits and no earned runs heading into this week’s action for the 10-4 Lions.

Swart had two saves last week and for his 2.1 innings of no hit ball was named OC Sports NJCAA Division II National Pitcher of the week. He earned saves in EMCC’s 6-4 win over Hinds and 3-0 victory over East Central Community College.

East Mississippi was scheduled to visit Pearl River Community College for a doubleheader on Tuesday. The Lions are then set to visit Meridian Community College for a single game Saturday, before hosting Holmes Community College for a doubleheader on March 12.
