From press reports
Gentiva Hospice, a member of the Gentiva family of home health and hospice companies, will be recognizing, honoring and celebrating local veterans with a pinning ceremony at various locations in Louisville during the month of November. Locations include pinnings at the following locations:
The Veterans Parade and Ceremony on Saturday, November 2, 2013.
A ceremony honoring veterans was also held at BeeHive Homes in Louisville on Friday, November 8, 2013 at 1:30 pm, and a ceremony honoring veterans at the Winston County Care Center Friday, November 8, 2013 at 3:00pm.
These are just a few of the locations we are honored to present and show our appreciation for our local veterans. Each veteran will receive an “Honored Veteran” lapel pin created to recognize their patriotism.
“We at Gentiva Hospice feel very strongly about serving the veteran population,” said Executive Director Stacy Thompson. “These men and women risked everything to ensure our freedom. The least that we can do is publicly recognize them and thank them for their service.”
To underscore its commitment to veterans, Gentiva Hospice is taking part in the We Honor Veterans program, a project of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization under a contract with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Gentiva’s participation in the program ensures that staff understands the unique needs of veterans and is prepared to meet the specific challenges that veterans and their families may face at the end of life.
