The Southern Pines District meetin god the Garden Club of Mississippi met on September 19 at Lake Tiak O’Khata with approximately 100 members attending. Registration began at 9:00 and the meting begin at 10:00 A.M.
Mrs Paul Grayson, Southern Pines District Director presided.
The meeting opened with Frances Ball giving the invocation. Debbie Moody led the Pledge to our Flad. Elaine Thompson gave the Welcome in the absence of Mayorr Will Hill, Judy McLeod also welcomed everyone to Louisville and invited them to visit downtown after the meeting and view the beauty of the flowers as well as do some shopping.
Mrs. Nancy Moore, GCM State President was introduced and gave a review of the Disrict Meetings. There are six districts in the state and we are the Southern Pines District. Nancy is in the second year of her administration and has served us well.
Afterwards, she reconginized the State Officers and chairpersons.
The highlight of the meeting is the awards presentation by Mrs. Grayson.
There were seven Honor Roll Clubs. They were Ellisville, Forest, Park Place, Laurel, Southern Hertiage, Northwopod, Taylorsville and Town and Country Garden Club of Louisville.
The top clubs were: Second place, Southern Hertiage, First Place: Town and Country Garden Club of Louisville, Debbie Moody President.
This club with only 14 members has achived many accomplishments this year in helping with the president them, Graden Hands in Service, that is serving the community in different ways. In her response , President Moody gave an overview of the clubs achievements. Jeanette Donald gave the blessingand after a delicious meal, door prizes were given.
The garden club invited everyone to the Spring Meeting which will be June 5, 2013
