Grace Christian School had very little trouble on the basketball court last week, opening its 2013-14 season with a pair of convincing victories, defeating New Life and Bethlehem by a combined total of 38 points.
Grace Christian was scheduled to host Hebron on Tuesday before traveling to Magee to face New Life on Monday, Nov. 18 and then traveling to take on the Jackson Victors on Nov. 22. The next home game for the Eagles will be against Ethel at 4 p.m. on Dec. 6.
Lucas Borntrager pumped in 28 points to lead Grace Christian in it’s season opening 57-40 home win over New Life last Tuesday, while Daniel Halfacre scored 17. Rounding out the scoring for the winners were Michael Fuller with six, Dalton Hartness with four and Nick Hogue with two.
It was Halfacre who handled the bulk of the scoring with 24 points on Thursday night, as the Eagles posted a strong 69-48 victory over visiting Bethlehem Christian School.
Fuller and Borntrager both scored in double figures, netting 15 and 12 points respectively, while Collin Mills scored seven and Landon Christopher six. Hogue and Landon Weeks scored two points each, while Hartness had one.
The Grace Christian School boys varsity basketball roster is as follows: Dalton Hartness, Lucas Borntrager, Michael Fuller, Nick Hogue, Daniel Halfacre, Alex Taylor, Landon Christopher, Collin Mills, Landon Weeks, Clay Crowder, Jamal Kelly and Jaylen Triplett.
