Grace Christian takes 4-5 mark into Christmas break

The Grace Christian School boys varsity basketball team closed out the 2013 portion of its schedule with a 68-49 loss to visiting Nanih Waiya on Dec. 16.

The Eagles, now 4-5 on the season, will take time off for the Christmas Holidays before resuming action on Jan. 7 when they pay a visit to Nanih Waiya. GSC will take part in the Tupelo Christian Tournament on Jan. 12 before hosting Jackson Victors on Jan. 14 and their own tournament on Jan. 17-18.

Grace Christian fell behind Nanih Waiya 31-12 after one quarter. The next three quarters saw each of the two teams score 37 points, with GCS outscoring NW 13-9 in the second quarter and 19-16 in the fourth.

Daniel Halfacre scored 16 points to lead Grace Christian, while Lucas Borntrager hit for 15, Dalton Hartness scored eight, Landon Weeks four, Collin Mills 3 and Michael Fuller three.
