Winston County Habitat for Humanity and its volunteers have been working to complete its third home to be built in Winston County.
It takes hours and hours of planning, fundraising, and coordinating to accomplish such a goal and all of which is done by volunteers. The board members believe in what Habitat for Humanity stands for, and are fulfilling the vision of providing safe, decent and affordable housing for partner families in Winston County as a tangible witness to the gospel of Jesus Christ.
The community has been generous in so many ways, such as attending fundraisers, providing monetary donations, volunteering physical labor, donating materials, and even businesses and individuals providing lunches for our volunteer workers.
“We could not have done it without each and every person who contributed in both big and small ways. Thank you for your patience as we worked around weather delays, volunteer schedules, availability of resources, and alterations in plans. You surround us as a great cloud of witnesses and encourage us to run with perseverance, to not grow weary and to have courage,” said Glenda Johnson, Board President.
Following Habitat for Humanity guidelines, as well as construction, banking and finance regulations, the group is working on the final details, and expect to have our dedication ceremony in the very near future. “Remember, our mission does not call us to simply build a structure; seeking to put God’s love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, community and hope,” said Glenda Johnson, Board President
