The annual Stew Stomp has a new name, new recipe, and a new location.
The Harvest Cook-off (South in your Mouth) will now be held on South Columbus Avenue and patrons will have the privilege of tasting chili for this year’s competition on November 2.
Cash prizes will be awarded for booth decorations, costumes, and best tasting chili. Cooking teams must register with Linda Skelton or Martha Mills at the Chamber Office on or before Friday, October 25. A $75 refundable deposit is required to reserve your booth and fire extinguisher.
The coveted, ceremonial South in Your Mouth Pot trophy will be given out to the first place winner along with $1,000 cash prize. Cash prizes will also be given out to the peoples’ choice chili and for the best booth decorations.
Along with some great tasting chili, the Chamber is also planning to add craft vendors this year.

Chamber and merchants is the downtown Halloween Trick or Treating set for Oct. 31. Participating merchants will pass out candy to children in costumes from 4 to 5 p.m .
Business and industry event held
The Chamber recently held a Business and Industry Appreciation Lunch on October 10.
The event featured a Golf Tournament and luncheon.
Winners of the golf tournament were:
1st place – The Citizens Bank team with a round of 58 Team members: Bruce Lee, Mark Majure, Jonathan Booker, and Joe Rush
2nd place – Bullock Toyota team with a round of 59
3rd place – Crowson Auto World team #1 with a round of 61
