It’s Elementary

Brandy Blanton, Elementary Schools nurse, provides weekly news and tips for helping children at home.

Fair Elementary’s Second grade TAG students went on a field trip to our local Pizza Hut and animal shelter. Pizza Hut manager, Pam Oldham gave students a tour of the restaurant and explained the procedures that the employees must follow. Students were able to go into the walk-in freezer and see where supplies were stored. The students also were able to make their own pizzas that day! After the students finished eating their pizzas, they headed over to the local animal shelter. Mrs. Barbara Yarbrough gave the students a tour of the shelter. The students delivered newspapers to the animal shelter so that the animal’s cages could be kept clean. This was a part of a recycling unit and also served as a community service project.

Fair Elementary’s Kindergarten classes decorated stockings for Christmas this year. One winner was chosen from each class:

Computers for Education packets will be sent home sometime next week with your child. Please fill out the book with addresses and return it to Fair Elementary. This is a fundraiser for our school and we will receive $5.00 per booklet that is completed with addresses and turned in! Thank you for your support!

On January 17th, Fair Elementary will be hosting another Blood Drive from 9:00 am til 1:00 pm. The Blood Mobile will be parked between Fair Elementary and Louisville Elementary School. Blood drives help to assure that the blood supply is strong and is available for patients in need. Find the HERO in you…give blood 3 times a year!

DATES TO REMEMBER:

January 17th – Blood Drive from 9:00am til 1:00pm

January 20th – Holiday, NO SCHOOL!

January 21st – Parent /Teacher conference day from 3:00 pm til 6:00pm (Students DO NOT report to school this day).
