It’s Elementary by Jennifer Palmer

The week of May 7-11was Teacher Appreciation Week. We are so thankful for all who took the time to recognize our hard-working teachers. Thank-you to Hill’s Tire & Auto (David & Penny Hill) for the cakes. Ms. Tan Houston & her grandmother provided cake & ice cream, as well. A HUGE table of food was prepared by our cafeteria in honor of the teachers. We appreciate the cafeteria staff for all of their hard work – throughout the school year. The Junior Auxiliary sent thoughtful snacks for the teachers. Fair’s PTO provided doughnuts and juice on Friday. Thank you also to Papa Vicks and Luigi’s for their donations. Congratulations to our 3rd graders for doing their best on their MCT2 tests!! Several of the teachers hosted Mother’s Day programs last week. Hopefully, all of the Moms enjoyed the programs and know how much we appreciate all of your support. The school year is almost over, but there are many activities going on during the final days. Students who had good behavior all year will be able to enjoy Party in the Park. Please be aware of your child’s schedule so that you can prepare and dress accordingly. Students should wear comfortable tennis shoes for walking & playing for Party in the Park, Field Day, and Movie Day. The Awards programs will be held in the auditorium at Louisville Elementary. Field Day is Monday, May 21st. Students who reached their AR goal 2 or more nine weeks will be able to participate in Field Day. • Pre-K – Awards program at 9:00 on May 17th. • Kindergarten – Party in the Park May 17th.
