The Patriots started the day with a 2-0 loss to Central Holmes, which won all four of its games in the tourney.
Winston followed with 6-0 and 9-3 victories over Carroll Academy and Kirk Academy before an 8-5 setback at the hands of Indianola Academy.

Against Kirk, Winston snapped a 2-2 tie with three runs in the bottom of the second and took control with three more in the third. Eaves reached and scored all three times, while Vowell, Dana, Disbrow, Anna Claire Bucklew, Sara Catt and Emma McCool each scored once.
