Coming off a pair of back-to-back region losses, the Lady Tigers of Noxapater High School will face a pair of non-league foes later this week before returning to league play next Tuesday at home against West Oktibbeha.

After opening the week with a 76-25 romp over East Oktibbeha, the Lady Tigers fell to West Oktibbeha 72-66 on Friday and then lost to West Lowndes 59-42. The Noxapater boys and girls are set to visit Louisville on Friday and McAdams on Saturday.

“These girls are playing their hearts out every ballgame,” Noxapater head coach Pam Winstead said of her team, which is currently 12-3 on the season and ranked No. 3 in MHSAA Class 1A by the Jackson Clarion-Ledger. “We have got to keep a level head and continue to work hard in practice. We have two non-district games this week and we will work on finishing the ballgame as strong as we start.”

Kiera Phillips scored 21 points to lead Noxapater against East Oktibbeha, while Hanna Hamilton and Treasure Lynch had 16 each. Trekena Carter added eight points, while Brittany Triplett had seven.

Phillips scored 15 in the loss to West Oktibbeha, while Triplett scored 14 and Hamilton and Ceanna Crosby scored 12 each.

Hamilton scored 17, Phillips 11 and Triplett eight against West Lowndes.

No scores or individual information were reported for the boys team.
