Legendary Coach, subject of ‘Remember the Titans’ to speak at ECCC

Herman Boone, legendary head football coach at T.C. Williams High School in Alexandria, Va., and the inspiration for the movie “Remember the Titans” will speak at East Central Community College in Decatur on Wednesday, November 20, 2013.

Activities begin at 6 p.m. in Huff Auditorium. There is no charge for admission and the event is open to the public. However, due to limited space, seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

ECCC President Dr. Billy Stewart said, “Coach Boone will share lessons in diversity, respect, teamwork, community involvement and the importance of character. He will also offer commentary about his experiences associated with “Remember the Titans.””

After his remarks, Coach Boone will engage in a Question and Answer session in the auditorium.

Following Coach Boone’s presentation in Huff Auditorium, the college will host a reception in Mabry Memorial Cafeteria where attendees will have an opportunity to meet and speak to Coach Boone.
