Letter to the editor – Dear Current Mayor of Noxapater City, Mississippi

Dear Current Mayor of Noxapater City, Mississippi,

This is an encouragement letter for the wonderful community of Noxapater, Mississippi. For at least five years and more, I have written motivational letters to the athletic programs of Augsburg College in Minneapolis, MN. After the Good Friday tornadoes of 2011 hit Saint Louis, I knew I had to reach out to more communities. I consider myself fortunate on that day in April, because one of the tornadoes struck two miles or so away from my house and hit the regions airport. Receiving a response from then President of the University of Alabama and now chancellor of the University of Alabama program Chancellor Witt inspired me to carry on and further encourage more communities who face natural disasters and tragedies to over come the adversity they face.
My recipients come from all over the world. I have received letters from cities’ such as Smithville, Mississippi, Dakar, Senegal, and Bangkok, Thailand. I have received responses from world leaders such as the President of the United States of America, Mr. Barack Obama, confirmation from the office of the Phillipines President Mr. Benigno S. Aquino the III, and my message has been conveyed to Mr. Nelson Mandela. We are all one community because only the lines on the map define our borders.
I am asking the attached letter to you to be read or circulated amongst the wonderful community of Noxapater, Mississippi, because it lets them know they are not alone, they will become better and they will succeed in overcomingadversity. I am writing because I really care about humanity and I long to see your community succeed and move forward.
A response would mean so much to me. I firmly believe your community will make it through the adversity each one of you has faced. This encouragement letter is not about me, but seeing communities overcome and succeed in life; just like I know they can.

Sincerely,
Andrew Webb
