From press and reports
Saturday, June 13, 2015, the LHS Class of 1959 celebrated its 56th year at Lake Tiak-O’Khata.
Members traveled from Brandon, Braxton, Clarksdale, Jackson, Madison, Oxford, Philadelphia, Starkville, Tupelo, and Union in Mississippi, as well as, from Alabama, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Tennessee. They enjoyed a buffet supper, visiting with each other, and talking about “old times”. Memorial candles honored the nineteen class members who have passed away.
Mindful of their good fortune to have grown up in Louisville, the Class of 1959 continues to support Winston County’s Public Library. This year, they have collected over $1,500 for the Library’s Summer Reading Program. A highlight of the evening was meeting Librarian Beth Edwards. Beth came by to thank the group for their commitment to literacy in Winston County.
The LHS Class of 1959 will celebrate their 57th year Saturday, June 11, 2016 at the Lake!
