Log jam

On Friday, June 5, 2014, Supervisor Gloria Turnipseed met with Willie T. Eichelberger, Vice President of the Dean Park Commission, Elmetra Patterson of Friends of Dean Park, Inc.  and several Mennonites to discuss the progress of the recovery in Dean Park.  There has been a lot of recovery work done but much more to do, especially since a major problem occurred with the sewage when a fallen tree caused damaged.

The rest of the work left to be done is hauling the logs and debris out of the park.  According to Turnipseed, “The 16 Section logs should start being hauled this week. Hopefully, the debris and logs will be moved in time for the Louisville School Reunion Picnic which is planned for July 5, 2014.  It is also time for the children to get back to the park to play.” She also stated that the Mennonites and the First Response Team of America have done tremendous work in a short period of time.
