Louisville Dentist installed as AGD President-Elect

The Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) is pleased to announce that W. Mark Donald, DMD, MAGD, of Louisville, Miss., was installed as the association’s president-elect during the AGD 2014 Annual Meeting & Exhibits, held June 26 to 29 in Detroit.
“The AGD works hard to meet our members’ needs and help them provide the best possible oral health care,” Dr. Donald says. “Whatever challenges the future may bring, we will be prepared to face them head-on.”

A member of the AGD for 27 years, Dr. Donald has been active on both the local and national levels. Locally, he has served the Mississippi AGD as membership chair, vice president, president, and delegate to the AGD House of Delegates. Currently, he is the Mississippi AGD legislative chair. Nationally, he has served as the AGD vice president and speaker of the house. He also was the Region 12 regional director for six years, serving as chair of the regional directors for two years.
In 2009, Dr. Donald earned his AGD Mastership Award, the association’s highest honor and one of the most respected designations within the profession. To accomplish this goal, he completed more than 1,100 hours of continuing dental education.
Dr. Donald also is a member of the American Dental Association, the Mississippi Dental Association, the American College of Dentists, the Pierre Fauchard Academy, and the National Association of Parliamentarians.
A 1988 graduate of the University of Mississippi School of Dentistry, Dr. Donald is in full-time private practice in Louisville, where he resides with his wife, Daphne. They have three children, a daughter-in-law, and two grandchildren. Dr. Donald is active in his community, volunteering with his church, civic clubs, and community agencies. He also is an ordained deacon, a private pilot, and an avid outdoorsman.
