The Fortnightly Club met in October at the home of Mrs. R.E. Clark, Jr. With the season of Fall in full swing decorations of pumpkins and ghouls abounded. The hostesses served an electic offering of refreshments including pickled okra with pimento and cheese stuffing, orange in Halloween color. Carry-away souvenirs of pencils with pumpkin and jack-o-lantern motifs were a reminder of the season.
Special guest Marvin Moody spoke on the current activities and status of The Louisville Historic Preservation Commission. The organization strives to preserve homes, buildings, even neighborhoods of a senior vintage, on a state and national level.
A short business meeting followed. President Mrs. Andrew Eaves presided and leading the group in pledging allegiance to the American Flag and reciting the club pledge of purpose. Mrs. Eaves extended an invitation to all for the November meeting to be held in her home.
