Louisville Lady Wildcats fall in tightly contested games

The Louisville Lady Wildcats lost a pair of 4-1 games last week, falling to Amory and Choctaw County in tightly contested games.

The Lady Wildcats, now 1-3 on the season, were scheduled to travel to Pontotoc on Monday and will travel to New Hope on Thursday and will host Kosciusko on Friday. During Spring break, the Lady Wildcats will host Choctaw Central on Monday the 13th at 9 a.m. and Choctaw County at noon.


Amory 4, Louisville 1

The Lady Wildcats managed just six hits as they dropped a three-run decision to Amory on Friday.

Amory scored one in the first, fourth, fifth and sixth innings. Louisville scored its only run in the sixth inning.

Adria Thames was 2-for-4 for Louisville while Jamiya Miller was 2-for-3 with one RBI.  Emaree Stone and Kameron Rogers had Louisville’s other hit. Stone scored Louisville’s only run while Miller had the lone RBI.

Rogers had two stolen bases while Stone had one stolen base.

Stone took the loss for Louisville, pitching six inning and giving up eight hits and two runs while striking out four runs.


Choctaw County 4, Louisville 1

Choctaw County held Louisville to four hits as they took a three-run win on Thursday.

The Lady Chargers scored one run in the second inning and three runs in the third inning while Louisville scored its one run in the sixth inning.

The Lady Wildcats had four hits as Moeisha McDonald was 2-for-3 with a triple and scored a run.  Emaree Stone had a hit and drove in a run. Carlmeisha Hunt had Louisville’s other hit.

Stone took the loss on the mound for Louisville, pitching all six innings, giving up four runs on six hits while striking out three and walking none.
