Lt. Gov. Reeves visits county and talks goals and reelection

Mississippi’s own Lieutenant Governor Tate Reeves recently held a meet and greet on January 17 at Lake Tia O’khata. The Lt. Governor was introduced by Winston County native president pro tempore of the state Senate Giles Ward.

Lt. Governor Tate Reeves opened the political event with, “Our goal is to build a connection with citizens of Mississippi and make a difference in their lives.” “We have been fiscally responsible, which has allowed us to balance our budget.”

Reeves went on to detail his continued stance on improving education in Mississippi. “I have a single simple belief and that is that every child deserves an opportunity for success.”

The Lt. Governor also touched on bringing more business to Mississippi as well as higher paying jobs. He ended with stating the he was blessed to serve the citizens of Mississippi and that he would be honored to have Mississippi’s support again as he runs for re-election.

Among those listening to Ward and Reeves were many candidates that are scheduled to be on the August 2015 ballot. Each candidate seeking office was allowed to introduce themselves and the office they were seeking.
