Lynch leads list of Noxapater track standouts head to state meet

Treasure Lynch took first place in the girls triple jump and second in the 100 meters in the MHSAA 1A South State Track Meet held at St. Andrews in Madison last Saturday.
Lynch is one of five Noxapater standouts who qualified for the MHSAA Class 1A State Track Meet set for Pearl High School on Monday, May 12. Individuals and relay teams that finished in the top four in South State advanced to the State Meet.
Lynch posted a distance of 33 feet, 6 inches to win the triple jump, while clocking a time of 12.83 in the 100 meters. Kierra Phillips was send in the girls triple jump with a distance of 32 feet, 4 inches and sixth in the 200 meters. Jarrius Carter took second in the boys 1600 meters with a time of 5:08 and fifth in the 800 meters.
Olivia McDonald was fourth in the girls 400 meters with a time of 1:07.09, while Trevara Miller was fourth in the boys discus with a toss of 112 feet and sixth in the shot put. The girls 4×200 meter relay team took first with a time of 1:53.88, while the boys 4×200 squad was fourth with a time of 1:38.70. The boys 4×100 team was sixth and the girls 4×400 was eighth.
Other Noxapater athletes with their events and finish in the 1A South State Meet are: William Chris Johnson, seventh in boys 400 meters; TreKena Carter, sixth in girls discus and sixth in girls shot put; Tyrell Carter, seventh in boys shot put.
