MSU honors local with Outstanding Teacher Intern Award

Drew Thomas Smith recently received an Outstanding Teacher Intern Award for his exemplary performance during the Teaching Internship in the spring 2014 semester at Mississippi State University.
Smith completed the teaching internship in Sports Pedagogy at Noxapter Attendance Center in the Louisville Municipal School District in Noxapater, Mississippi. He did an outstanding job and was highly recommended for this award by his classroom mentor teacher, Justin Hunter.

Smith is the son of Charlie and Shannon Smith and is the grandson of Kathy Humphries. Outstanding Teacher Intern awards are given to teacher interns who go above and beyond expectations. Teacher interns are nominated for this award by their classroom mentor teachers and university supervisors and receive this recognition based on their effectiveness throughout their Teaching Internship. Teacher interns receiving the awards were selected because of outstanding teaching performance, resourcefulness, initiative, professionalism, and demonstration of a high level of commitment to the teaching profession.
