Nanih Waiya’s Holdiness chosen for All-Star game

Nanih Waiya High School junior catcher Reagan Holdiness has been chosen to play for the South in the Mississippi Association of Coaches 1A/2A/3A/ Fast-Pitch All-Star Game set to be played at Jones County Junior College in Ellisville on June 7.

The game is for rising seniors only. There will also be a 4A/5A/6A game. The coaches for the 1A/2A/3A South team are Wayne Wilson and Cassie Wilson of Sebastopol.

Also on the South team are: Averi Pender, Union; Brently Comans and Abby Winstead, Sebastopol; Brittany Hagwood and Katie Jo Riley, Enterprise; Madison Scoggin, Stringer; Sabrina Turner and Victoria Tyler, St. Patrick Catholic; Gianca Holmes, Tylertown, Brittney McCray, Sumrall; McKenzie Milligan, Cathedral; and Micah Redd, West Lincoln.

Among those playing for the North are Autumn Frost and Mamie Hollenhead of East Webster and Hannah McDowell of Eupora. The North coaches are Jeremy Duke and Michael Wildmon of Smithville.

Area players playing for the South in the 4A/5A/6A game are: Darby Bishop and Ashton Lampton of Newton County and Brittany Baty of Northeast Lauderdale. The team is being coached by Justin Chaney and Jay Smith of Newton County High School. Hailey Lunderman of Neshoba Central will be on the 4A/5A/6A North team.
