Noxapater baseball, softball set for busy week

After taking most of last week off due to spring break, the Noxapater High School baseball and softball teams are set to return to action this week. The baseball team has three varsity games on tap if the weather allows, while the softball team is scheduled to play five games.

The 2-3 Noxapater baseball team was set to host Ethel on Tuesday before opening region play at home against Nanih Waiya on Friday. The Tigers are then set to visit Sebastopol for a 1 p.m. game on Saturday, before hitting the road next week to visit West Lowndes on Tuesday in another region contest.

The Lady Tigers softball team was set to host East Webster on Tuesday and Ethel on Friday. The Lady Tigers will then face Leake Central twice and Sebastopol once in the Sebastopol Tournament on Saturday. Noxapater is set to play the Lady Gators at 10 a.m. and 2:35 p.m. and the host team at 12:50 p.m.

Noxapater will then visit Starkville for a 6 p.m. contest on Monday before opening up region play on March 27 by hosting West Lowndes at 6 p.m.
