Noxapater continues league play this week

The Lady Tigers of Noxapater High School were looking to get back on the winning track when they played a pair of key region contests this week.

The Lady Tigers, who lost back-to-back games to Louisville and McAdams last weekend, were set to host West Oktibbeha on Tuesday, before visiting West Lowndes on Friday.

The Noxapater girls, who are currently ranked No. 5 in MHSAA Class 1A by the Jackson Clarion-Ledger, dropped a 73-32 decision to Class 3A foe Louisville, before dropping a 60-44 decision to McAdams on Saturday.

The Noxapater boys lost to Louisville 72-34 and McAdams 69-64. The Tigers led McAdams 13-10 in the first quarter, but the Bulldogs outscored Noxapater 25-13 in the second quarter to take a 35-26 halftime lead. Noxapater rallied in the second half, outscoring McAdams 17-10 in the third quarter but the Bulldogs were able to hold on for the win. Asa Wise led McAdams with 16 points.
