After months of waiting, the Noxapater football team received something it had been looking for ever since walking off the field at Mississippi Veterans Memorial Stadium as Class 1A champs—their championship rings. Noxapater High School held their ring ceremony last night in their auditorium to present the football team with their championship rings from this past football season. The ceremony began with a greeting from Noxapater High School Principal Glenn Stevens. Once he had greeted the crowd, he gave way to new Head Football Coach and Athletic Director Justin Hunter. Hunter then introduced the team as they walked down the aisle to the roar of the crowd. Next, the lights were dimmed as a video, created by Noxapater football player Justus Barfield, showed the highlights of the championship season. The crowd gave a big reaction as the highlights from the championship game flashed across the screen. After the video, the presentation of the rings to the players began. One by one each member came to the stage and was handed their ring by Coach Hunter and his staff. Also receiving rings were the managers of the team, with a special presentation for Patrick Files, who supported the team the whole entire season. Then the cheerleaders were presented with their championship rings as well. The school and players would like to thank all the community contributions and the Tiger Club for helping in raising money to purchase the rings.
