The Noxapater High School girls took home five first place finishes in the district track meet held in Winona on Thursday, while the boys claimed a pair of their own. In all, Noxapater had 12 track athletes who finished in the top four in their individual or relay events in the district meet and will now compete in the Class 1A regional in Winona on Saturday.
The Noxapater girls finished second overall in the district on Thursday, while the boys took third.
Treasure Lynch won the triple jump and finished second in the 100 meter dash, while Kiera Phillips was first in the 200 meter dash and second in the triple jump. Margreta Bridgeman took first in the high jump, second in the 100 meter hurdles and second in the 300 meter hurdles, while TreKena Carter was first in the shot put and third in the discus.
Olivia McDonald finished second in the 400 meters, while Brittany Triplett was third in the long jump. The 4×400 relay team took first, while the 4×100 and 4×200 relay squads both finished second.
In the boys division, Jarrius Carter was first in the 800 meters and second in the 1600 meters, while Trevara Miller was first in the shot put and second in the discus.
Chris Johnson was third in the 400 meters, fourth in the 110 meter hurdles and fourth in the 300 meter hurdles, while Tyrell Carter was third in the discus and third in the shot put. Brandon Barrett took fourth in the 200 meter dash, while Vontae Woods claimed fourth in the triple jump.
The 4×200 and 4×400 meter relay teams each took second, while the 4×100 meter relay team was third.
