Mr. Richard Douglas Gilliland, Sr.

Funeral services for Mr. Richard Douglas Gilliland, Sr., 80, were held at 2 p.m., July 27, 2014 at Coleman Funeral Home in Ackerman. Burial followed in the Hebron Baptist Church Cemetery near Cedar Bluff.
A resident of Ackerman, Mr. Gilliland was the retired owner of the Piggly Wiggly/ Gilliland’s Grocery Store in Ackerman. He was a member of Ackerman Baptist Church in Ackerman. Mr. Gilliland died Friday, July 25, 2014 at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo.
Survivors include his wife, Gola Mae Gilliland of Ackerman, and three grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo, Ms.
Coleman Funeral Home of Ackerman was in charge of arrangements.
Miss Melissa Miller
Services were held for Miss Melissa Miller was held at Mount Sinai M.B. Church in Louisville, MS at 2:00 p.m. Officiating was Elder James Young. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Beck Funeral Home of Louisville was in charge of arrangements.
Miss. Miller, 36, was born July 15, 1978 and died July 17, 2014 at her home in Louisville, MS. She is survived by her father; Shelby Miller, mother; Mary miller, sister Felecia Miller Haynes of Louisville, MS, brothers Christopher Kirk and Shelby miller; both of Louisville, MS, her grandmother; Earline Miller, God-Mother, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Mr. Donnie “Duke” Parker
Funeral services for Mr. Donnie “Duke” Parker were held at 2 PM Sat., July 26, 2014 from John E. Stephens Chapel with Rev. Johnny Ainsworth officiating. Interment was in Hight Assembly of God Cemetery in Noxapater. John E. Stephens Chapel Funeral Services was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Parker, 62, passed away on Thursday, July 24, 2014 at his residence. He worked for Tri-C Wood Products.
Mr. Parker is survived by his mother, Mildred Catherine Parker of Union, MS; sisters, Ann Scaggs of Moorehead, KY and Shelia Weaver of Nashville, TN; brothers, Robert Parker of Phila, MS and Mike Parker of Westmorlin, TN; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Pallbearers were Chris Parker, Andy Parker, Larry Gruber, Andy Sanderson, Less Garrett, Casey Parker, Clovis Parker and Lee Parker.
Mrs. Callie Lolita Jones
Services were held for Mrs. Callie Lolita Jones on July 27, 2014 at Oak Grove M.B. Church, 2:00 p.m. Officiating was Rev. Wayne Ben. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Beck Funeral Home of Louisville was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Callie, 84, of Preston, MS was born June 8, 1930 and died July 19, 2014 in Chicago, IL. She is survived by her daughter; Margie Pryor of Chicago, IL, son; Lawrence Smith of Chicago, IL, sister; Lillian Jones of Preston, MS, brothers; Joe Louis Walker and Elmer Walker, 23 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Horace W. Dunn
Funeral services for Mr. Horace W. Dunn was at 11 AM Friday, July 25, 2014 from John E. Stephens Chapel with Rev. John Stephens and Rev. Ricky Wilcher officiating. Rev. David officiated the graveside. Interment was in Cedar Hill Cemetery. John E. Stephens Chapel Funeral Services was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Dunn, 92, passed away on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian, MS. He was a WWII U.S. Army veteran, receiving the purple heart. Mr. Dunn worked at Neshoba Central School as outside maintenance worker for numerous years. He was a member of Cedar Hill Baptist Church.
Mr. Dunn is survived by his wife of 68+ years, Mae Dunn of Phila, MS; (3) daughters, Beth Majure of Phila, MS, Susan Ellingburg of Phila, MS and Melissa Gannon of Newton, MS; (6) grandchildren; (7) great-grandchildren; host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Jason Long, Justin Long, Perry Mitchell, Travis Mitchell, Randy Clay, James Dunn, Jerrod Taylor, Johnny Reynolds, Corey Borden and Craig Borden.
Mrs. Gaddie B. “MaMaw B” Holdiness
Gaddie B. “MaMaw B” Holdiness, 88, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Friday, July 25, 2014, at her son’s residence in Louisville, Mississippi. Visitation was on Sunday, July 27, 2014, at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. as well as one hour prior to the service on Monday. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 28, 2014, in the Nowell-Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Allen “Bubba” Eaves and Rev. Hubert Yates officiating. Interment followed in Good Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.
“MaMaw B” was born in Neshoba County on May 10, 1926, to Addie Mae Cummins Higginbotham and John Jackson Higginbotham. She was a member of Ebenezer Pentecostal Church and was employed as a seamstress by Macon Pants Factory for 24 years.
She is survived by her children: Shirley Jean Hawkins; John William “Johnny” Holdiness, Jr.; Barbara Walton Parker, all of Louisville; and Jackie Dale Holdiness of Preston. “MaMaw B” has nine grandchildren. She has 17 great-grandchildren She also has four great-great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers were Chris Hawkins, Barry Walton, Brent Walton, John White, Drew Holdiness, Derek Holdiness, Joey Holdiness, Justin White, and Jay Woodfin. Serving as honorary pallbearers were Ian, Caleb and Seth Walton; and Austin Richardson. Memorials may be given to the Good Hope Cemetery Fund, c/o Billy Moody, 11766 Highway 490, Louisville, MS 39339.

member of Louisville Business Men’s Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents,
Elaine Finley Thomas and Robert Oren
He is survived by his wife, Judy Dowdle
Thomas; his son, Dow (Shelley) Thomas,
grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Fin Thomas, all
of Louisville, MS; and his sister, Dorothy
Thomas of Philadelphia, MS.
