Graveside services for infants Ella Baker and Emil Baker of Oxford were March 26, 2017, at Wood Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Choctaw County with the Rev. Timothy Gibson officiating.

Ella and Emil died March 23, 2017, at Methodist Hospital, Germantown, Tennessee.

Survivors include their parents, Lee and Nichole Baker of Oxford; a sister, Lily Ann Baker of Oxford; their grandparents, Warren and Suzanne Anderson of Granite Falls, Washington, Christy and Rob Cogle of Lake Stevens, Washington, Wayne and Tammy Baker of Eupora, and Janice Dorsey of Starkville; their great-grandmother, Sarah Clark Baker; and their great-grandparents, Brenda and Buddy Fulgham.

Mildred Busby

Services for Mildred Busby, 92, of Mathiston were March 25, 2017, at Coleman Funeral Home in Ackerman with the Rev. Michael Baham officiating. Burial was in Antioch Community Church Cemetery near Ackerman.

She was born July 24, 1924, to the late Melvin Phelps and Gola Snider Phelps. Mrs. Busby was retired from BellSouth and a member of Blythe Creek Baptist Church near Mathiston. She died March 23, 2017, at North Mississippi Medical Center-Eupora.

Survivors include a son, Michael Busby of Fort Walton Beach, Florida; a brother, James E. Phelps of Nauvoo, Alabama; two sisters, Oline Bell of Mathiston and Mamie L. Jordan of Ellisville, Illinois; and two grandchildren.

 

Steve ‘Skeet’

Fulgham

Memorial services for Steve “Skeet” Fulgham, 68, of Maben will be held at a later date.

He died March 20, 2017, at his residence.

Survivors include a daughter, Crystal Marie Hood of Enid; two sons, Alex Fulgham of Maben and Christopher Skipper; a sister, Penny Latham of Ackerman; three brothers, Terry “Chuck” Fulgham of Edwards, Johnny Fulgham of Eupora and Ronnie Fulgham of Jacksonville, Florida; and one grandson.

Sprayberry

A family memorial service for Sharon Grace Sprayberry, 77, of Duck Hill may be held at a later date.

She was born May 10, 1939, in California to the late Fonley Bern Sorenson and Dorothy Grace Bunch Sorenson. Mrs. Sprayberry had been employed as a nurse’s aide at University of Mississippi Medical Center-Grenada. She died March 10, 2017, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.

Mr. Mark Anthony Robinson

Funeral services for Mr. Mark Anthony Robinson, 58, were held at 1st Unity United Methodist Church in Weir Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 11 a.m.

Mr. Robinson was a butcher. Mr. Robinson passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2017.

Winters Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

 

Willie E. Mitchell, Sr.,

Funeral services for Willie E. Mitchell, Sr., 60, were held at 2 p.m.,

March 25 at Oak Grove #2 M.B. Church in Louisville. Rev. Anthony

Thames officiated. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Mr. Mitchell was a laborer and member of Oak Grove #2 M.B. Church. He

died March 16 at the Winston County Medical Center.

Survivors include, his wife, Linda Mitchell; one daughter, Brittany

Mitchell; 3 sons, Marcus Mitchell, Willie Mitchell, Jr., and Alvis

Mitchell; one sister, Earline McGee; one brother, Henry Mitchell; 4

grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Beck Funeral Home of Louisville was in charge of the arrangements.

 

Micheal Kelly

Funeral services for Micheal Kelly, 51, were held at 11 a.m., March 21

at Beck Funeral Home in Louisville. Dr. Willie Coleman officiated.

Burial followed in Little Calvary cemetery.

Mr. Kelly was a laborer. He died March 16 at his home in Louisville.

Survivors include his mother, Katie Kelly; 4 daughters, Chatae,

Martha, Chatae, and Charlene; 4 sons, Michael, Eric, Dexter, and

Brandon; 5 sisters, Mary, Penny, Dorothy, Inett, and Inett; and a host

of nieces and nephews.

Carlos A. Brooks

Funeral services for Carlos A. Brooks, 40, were held at 3 p.m., March

29 at Beck Funeral Home. Bro. Charles Culberson officiated. Burial was

cremation.

Mr. Brooks was a laborer. He died March 19 at the Toledo Hospital in

Toledo, Ohio.

Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Brooks; 2 daughters, Shakenya

Hardy and Tycarla Brooks; 2 step daughters, Arbeana Harris and

Erieanna Harris; his mother, Linda Brooks; 5 sons, Jyson Brooks,

Carlos Brooks, Jr., Charles Brooks, Jaruis Brooks, and Xzavidus Bond;

4 step sons, Quentin Tate, Eric Harris, Jakaylin Harris, and

Jaquavious Tate; his grandmother, Sallie Hill; one grandchild; and a

host of neices and nephews.

Vance Haynes

Funeral Services for Vance Haynes, 63, were held at 10 a.m., March 25

at Center Hill Church of God in Christ in Louisville. Elder Terrell

Harris officiated. Burial followed in the Veteran Memorial cemetery in

Newton.

Mr. Haynes was a laborer. He died March 19 at the Winston County Medical Center.

Survivors include one daughter, Lameshie; one son, Terrence LaFrance;

3 sisters, Ruth, Mary and Rejeana; 7 brothers, Billy, Johnny, Stanley,

Hulah, Anthony, Alvin, and Rodney; his fiancee, Joyce; and a host of

nieces and nephews.
