Mrs. Edna Dacus Mrs. Edna Dacus, 78, passed away on Friday, June 15, 2012, at Anderson Hospital in Meridian, Mississippi. Visitation was Thursday, June 21, 2012, from 10 a.m. until service time at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville, Mississippi. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 21, 2012, at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Davis officiating. Interment was in Odd Fellow Cemetery in Macon, Mississippi.
Mrs. Dacus was born on February 27, 1934. She was a member of Evergreen Baptist Church and she was a retired caregiver. Mrs. Dacus is survived by three sisters: Faye Edwards of Meridian, Mississippi; Ruth Erhardt of Sacramento, California; and Agnes Sciple of Selma, Tennessee. She is also survived by a grandson, and two granddaughters.

Mr. Thomas Nolan Kirkland, 82, passed away on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at his residence. He has lived in the House Community since 1998. He retired from Kerr Glass as a machinist in Plainfield, IL. Mr. Kirkland was a member of Pentecostals of House Church.
Mr. Kirkland is survived by his wife, Dorothy Kirkland of House, MS; daughters, Brenda Held of Joliet, IL; Wanda Kirkland of Joliet, IL; sons, Jack Kirkland of House, MS, Tommy Kirkland of Shorewood, IL; Michael Kirkland of Arvada, CO; brother, Homer Ray Kirkland of Pascagoula, MS; (13) grandchildren; (11) great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Bro. Larry Don Smith, 65, of Union, MS passed away on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at his residence. He was born on December 16, 1946 in Pascagoula, MS. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran and was discharged on December 29, 1965 in Oakland, CA. He was an electrician by trade. Bro. Smith married Linda Jewell Kelly on September 25, 1965 in Gulfport, MS. He attended Jacksonville Bible College in Jacksonvill, TX and Southeastern Baptist College in Laurel, MS. He pastored churches in Texas, Alabama and numerous churches in Mississippi since 1973, including White Oak Baptist Church and Mt. Olive Baptist Church in the local area and Rock Creek Baptist Church in Union, MS.

Smith is survived by his wife of 46 years, Linda Kelly Smith of Union, MS; daughters, Linda Richelle Alexander of Union, MS and Brenda Ann Smith of Union, MS; son, Terry Alan Smith of Union, MS; brothers, Keith Lynn Smith of Brooklyn, MS and Jerry Wayne Smith of Vancleave, MS; (7) grandchildren; (3) nieces; (1) nephew; numerous cousins and friends.

Mr. Ables was a retired steel mill machinist/farmer, and a US Army veteran. Mr. Ables died on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at Winston Medical Center Nursing Home in Louisville.

Mr. Myron Holmes McBrayer, 79, died Friday, June 15, 2012 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, MS. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, June 19th, at 11:00 A.M. at Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. Jason Gross officiating. Interment was in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Noxapater.
Mr. McBrayer was born December 24, 1932, in Winston County, MS. He was a graduate of Calhoun High School, and attended East Central Community College. He was a retired machinist with Illinois Central Gulf Railroad, and was an Army veteran of Korea. He was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy McBrayer; and his parents, Etoile and Thomas McBrayer.
He is survived by his daughter, Myra Ann Lewis of Ridgeland, MS; a grandson, Adam Lewis of Ridgeland; and three sisters-in-law, Lucille Kirkpatrick of Noxapater, Ann Fulton of Brandon, MS, and Edna Kirkpatrick of New Orleans, LA.

Mr. Robert Noah Palmer, Jr., 68, of Y-City, Arkansas, died in his home on Monday, June 18, 2012, at 12:05 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 29, 2012, at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in Murphy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Louisville, Mississippi.
Mr. Palmer was born on March 22, 1944. Robert was an honored Vietnam Veteran that earned a National Defense Medal. Throughout his years, he served in the Navy, the Armed Forces and he was a mountain man that knew it all. He was our Lord’s blessed soldier on sacred ground. He was of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Palmer is survived by two daughters, Sunny Angel Palmer of St. Johns, Arizona, and Brittany Ann Ragsdale of Pelahatchie, Mississippi. He is also survived by one sister, Sandra Kay Ray of Marietta, Georgia; and four brothers, Timothy Howe Palmer and wife, Tina Jane, Paul Davis Palmer, Ronald Javis Palmer and wife, Phyllis, all of Louisville, Mississippi, and Anthony Gilbert Palmer and wife, Lori, of Columbus, Mississippi. Robert has five grandchildren, Garrett Scott Palmer of St. Johns, Arizona, Baley Claire Irby, Devin Jordan Ragsdale, Kylie Ann Ragsdale, and Adrian Noah Lee Ragsdale all of Pelahatchie, Mississippi.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Noah Palmer, Sr., and Dorothy Willie Palmer.
His daughter, Sunny Angel Palmer, stayed and cared for him day and night through his last days. She gave her full heart and soul to his beginning journey into Heaven. His daughter, Brittany Ragsdale, and good friend, Barbara Harris, took care of him throughout his painful cancer treatments from August, 2011, until April, 2012. We will see you in heaven, daddy. We all love you.

Mr. Larry Gale Hemphill, 59, passed away on Friday, June 22, 2012, at the Baptist Memorial Hospital Golden Triangle in Columbus, Mississippi. Visitation was Sunday, June 24, 2012, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville, Mississippi. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 25, 2012, in the Nowell-Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Trent Jaudon officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Hemphill was born on September 13, 1952. He was a retired Staff Sergeant in the Army National Guard, a member of Poplar Flat Baptist Church, and a Mason.
Mr. Hemphill is survived by his wife of 38 years, Beverly Jo Bennett Hemphill of Louisville, Mississippi. He is also survived by three daughters, Deidere Lea McDill of McComb, Mississippi, Jennifer Rebekah Kirk and husband, Jeremy, of Prattville, Alabama, and Kimberly Gail McDill and husband, Trey, of Louisville, Mississippi; and one son, Kevin Hemphill. Larry has nine grandchildren, Caleb Hunt, Drew McDill, Austin Catt, Erin Kirk, Tristen McDill, Zachary McDill, Kelsey Kirk, Graison McDill, and Hayden McDill.
Mr. Hemphill was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Eva Dell Sullivan Hemphill; his brother, Jerry Hemphill; and four sisters.
Pallbearers were Terry Kelley, Ralph Clark, Charles Kupis, Romack Smith, John Coleman, Mike Patrick, and Joe Luke. Honorary Pallbearers were the members of Troop A 98th CAV of Louisville.
