Mrs. Sarah Lue Billups

Funeral Service for Mrs. Sarah Lue Billups, 89, were held at Mt. Bell M. B. Church, Sunday, September 8, 2013 at 2:00 Pm. Officiating was Rev. Billy J. Clay. Burial followed in the Mt. Bell Cemetery.

Mrs. Billups was a native of Louisville, a homemaker and a member of Mt. Bell M.B. Church of Louisville. She was born April 30, 1924 and died at St. Dominic Hospital, in Jackson, MS Wednesday, September 4, 2013.

Survivors are one step-daughter Lonnie L. Brown of Louisville, one son Thomas Billups of Jackson, MS; two brothers William Hughes and Jimmy Hughes both of Cleveland, OH, six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild, and a host of other friends.

Mrs. Winston “Tootsie” Carter

Funeral Service for Mrs. Winston “Tootsie” Carter, 69, were held at Mt. Calvary M. B. Church, Sunday, September 8, 2013 at 2:00 Pm. Officiating was Tommie Shelton Burial followed in the Little Calvary Cemetery.

Mr. Carter was a native of Louisville, a Laborer and a member of Little Calvary M.B. Church of Louisville. He was born February 27, 1944 and died at his home, Wednesday, September 4, 2013.

Survivors are four daughters Margrete, Elaine, Jennifer and Kimberly all of Louisville, Evelyn Hallmon of Ethel, MS, four sons Vincent of Carthage, MS, Jeffery of Noxapater, MS, Ollon of San Diego, CA and Kevin of Louisville; one sister Helen Carter of Noxapater and one brother Jeff Carter of Louisville, twenty grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and a host of other friends.

Beck Funeral Home of Louisville was in charge of arrangements.

 

Mrs. Aggie K. Miller

Funeral Service for Mrs. Aggie K. Miller, 94, were held at Millspring M. B. Church, Sunday, September 8, 2013 at 3:00 Pm. Officiating was Rev. Vincent Coleman. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Miller was a native of Choctaw County, a member of Millspring M.B. Church of Weir. She was born December 15, 1918 and died at Attala County Nursing Center, Wednesday, September 4, 2013.

Survivors are four daughters Lou Emma Shannon, Mary Baldwin and Nettie Lawrence all of Weir, MS and Adale Hickman of Louisville, MS; four sons Allen Lawrence of Detroit MI, Edward Lawrence and Robert Lawrence of Weir, MS and Grady Lawrence of Memphis TN; two brothers Robert Kirkwood and Henry Kirkwood both of Weir, MS, twenty eight grandchildren, forty three great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild, and a host of other friends.

William & Hampton Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

 

Mrs. Carolyn Steele Sutton

Funeral service for Mrs. Carolyn Steele Sutton were held at 1 PM Saturday, September 7, 2013 at John E. Stephens Chapel with Rev. Steve Mosley officiating. Burial was in the Mt. Zion UMC Cemetery. Visitation was from 2-6 PM Friday, September 6, 2013 at John E. Stephens Chapel.

John E. Stephens Chapel Funeral Services is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Sutton, 65, passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian, MS. She was a member of Mt. Zion Beautification and Cooking Association.

Survivors include her daughter, Paula Noel of Phila, MS; son, Mark Adams of Phila, MS; sisters, Juanita Steele Moore, Ruthie Steele Moore, Sandra Steele Boler, Roxie Steele Carter and Sarah Steele Coleman all of Phila, MS, Lesia Steele Triplett of Atlanta, GA, Stacy Steele of Grand Prairie, TX and Kimberly Steele Faulkner of Atlanta, GA; brothers, Curtis Steele of Memphis, TN, Henry Steele of Phila, MS, Norman Steele of Miami, FL and Jerry Steele of Atlanta, GA; 8 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends

Pallbearers were Donamechia Carter, Yarnell Steele, Marcus Johnson, Griffin Steele, Casey Lyons, Norman Steele, Jr., Cristain Steele, Duncan Steele, Myles Faulkner, Roderiques Moore, Scottie Coleman and Bryant Steele.
