Mr. Larry Lee Pirkle
Larry Lee Pirkle, 77 (formerly of Louisville, MS) died Sunday, September 22, 2013 at Regency Hospital in Hattiesburg, MS, following an extended illness.
Funeral services were held on September 28, 2013 at Woodlawn Church in Columbia, MS with interment in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Mr. Pirkle was a member of Woodlawn Church in Columbia, MS. He belonged to the Order of the Freemasons, and was a member of St. Albans Masonic Lodge of Columbia.
Survivors Include: wife, Nina (Nelson) Pirkle of Columbia, MS; two sons, Tony Carol Pirkle of Olive Branch, MS, and Jerry Lynn Pirkle of Columbia, MS; a daughter, Brenda Lea Tullos of Philadelphia, MS; a brother, Robert Brown of Fort Wayne, IN; two sisters, Faye Meyer of Murfreesboro, TN, and Sue Warren of Columbus, IN; five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and a number of nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral service were held for Mrs. Julia Steele Burrage at New Zion Baptist Church . Officiating were Rev. W. L. Hightower and Elder Ernest May. Burial following in the New Zion Cemetery.
A native of Louisville, Mrs. Burrage was born August 29, 1925 and died Saturday September 28, 2013 at Louisville Health Care.
Survivors are nine children Jesie Burrage of Des Moines, IA, Dorothy of Davenport, IL, William of Milwaukee, WS, Julie of Louisville, Carolyn of Urbana, IL, Frank of Davenport, LA, Prentiss of Davenport, LA Robin and Jeffery of Louisville and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Mr. Ronnie Battle
Funeral services for Mr. Ronnie Battle was held at 11 AM Monday, October 7, 2013 at John E. Stephens Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Tolbert officiating. Burial was in East Lawn Cemetery. John E. Stephens Chapel Funeral Services was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Battle, 61, passed away on Friday, October 4, 2013 at Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian, MS. He worked 30 years for Kirby Inland Marine. He was chief engineer of the riverboat. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church.
Mr. Battle is survived by his wife, Anna Battle of Philadelphia; mother, Jean Battle of Philadelphia; daughters, Laurie Price of Philadelphia; Jennie Bobo of Carthage; mother-in-law, Olive Meaders; sisters, Doma Whitley of Philadelphia and Cathy Adcock of Philadelphia; brothers, Bobby Steely of Louisville and Gary Battle of Philadelphia; (5) grandchildren; several nieces and other family members.
Mr. Martis Sistrunk
Graveside service for Mr. Martis Sistrunk was held at 3:30 PM Sunday, October 6, 2013 at Freeny Cemetery with Rev. John Stephens officiating. John E. Stephens Chapel Funeral Services was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Sistrunk, 75, passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2013 at his residence in Philadelphia. He lived most of his life in Carthage, MS. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a building contractor. He was Pentecostal.
Mr. Sistrunk is survived by his daughters, Regina Ann Berry of Carthage, MS and Tina Bryan of Phila, MS; son, Gary Joe Sistrunk of Edinburg, MS; (6) grandchildren; (11) great-grandchildren; (1) great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Bill Howell, Jeff Goodwin, Steven Adcock, Jay Tanksley, Butch Meaders, Michael Vowell, Harold Ethridge and Fronie Cumberland.
