Mr. Johnnie Albert Hendrix
Funeral services for Mr. Johnnie Albert Hendrix were held at 2:00 PM Sunday, November 10, 2013 at John E. Stephens Chapel with Dr. Eugene Dobbs and Rev. John Stephens officiating. Interment was in Bloomfield Cemetery. John E. Stephens Chapel Funeral Services was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Hendrix, 85, passed away on Thursday, November 7, 2013 at Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian, MS. He was born in Kemper County but, made his home in Philadelphia since 1950. He retired from Wells Lamont Corporation as shipping clerk after 46 years of service. Mr. Hendrix was a member of Philadelphia Masonic Lodge No. 93. He was a charter member of North Calvary Baptist Church, where he served as deacon and Sunday school teacher for many years.
Mr. Hendrix is survived by his daughters, Patricia Copeland of Phila, MS and Karen Cumberland of Phila, MS; brother, R.J. Hendrix of Tucson, AZ; sister, Ramona Thorne of Decatur, MS; (5) grandchildren; (7) great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Richard Copeland, John Cumberland, James Copeland, Jeremy Cumberland, Chris Barlow and Austin Cumberland.
Mr. Leroy Quattlebaum
Funeral services for Mr. Leroy Quattlebaum were held at 1 PM Tuesday, November 12, 2013 from John E. Stephens Chapel with Rev. John Stephens officiating. Interment was in MS Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Newton, MS. John E. Stephens Chapel Funeral Services is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Leroy Quattlebaum, 78, passed away on Friday, November 8, 2013 at G.V. (Sonny) Montgomery Veterans Memorial Hospital in Jackson, MS. He was born in Melrose, NM and later made his home in Decatur, MS. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He was an auto mechanic and woodworking craftsman. He was a Baptist.
Mr. Quattlebaum is survived by his wife, Mary S. Quattlebaum of Decatur, MS; daughters, Tammy Quattlebaum of Florence, MS and Pamela Quattlebaum of Ridgeland, MS; son, Michael Quattlebaum of Florence, MS; sisters, Elsie Hagan of Union, MS; two God children; several nieces and nephews.
Ms. Wilma Faye Graham
Funeral services for Ms. Wilma Faye Graham were held at 10 AM Friday, November 8, 2013 at First Church of God on Columbus Avenue with Rev. Keith Hall officiating.
Interment was in MS Veterans Memorial Cemetery at Newton, MS. John E. Stephens Chapel Funeral Services was in charge of arrangements.
Ms. Graham, 76, passed away on Monday, November 4, 2013 at her residence. She was a store manager. She was a member of First Church of God.
Ms. Graham is survived by her daughters, Deborah Stamps of Mabank, TX, Cheryl Ann Cook of Rowlett, TX & Sonji Kay Walker of Pleasant Grove, UT; son, James E. Royal of Whiteside, TN; (8) grandchildren; (9) great-grandchildren; (1) great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were James Royal, Zachary Cassel, Dillon Gragsone, William Cook Jr., Richard Adams and Mike Lewis.
Mrs. Shirley Ann Gore Dempsey
Mrs. Shirley Ann Gore Dempsey, 67, died Sunday, November 3, 2013, at Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian, MS. Memorial services were held at 7 P.M. on Wednesday, November 6, at Porter Funeral Home, with Mr. Tommy McKinley officiating. Porter Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Dempsey was born February 24, 1946, in Winston County, MS. She was a caregiver and homemaker, and attended First United Pentecostal Church.
She is survived by her daughters, Lisa Windham of Louisville, MS, Sheila Criddle of Philadelphia, MS, Danita Jones of Noxapater, MS, and Carolyn Prisock of Louisville, MS; her son, Daniel Dempsey of Philadelphia, MS; one sister, Lorraine Nation of Kosciusko, MS; 9 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren.

Mr. Emmett W. Carr
Funeral services for Emmett W. Carr, 76, were held November 6, 2013 at Coleman Funeral Home in Ackerman, MS, with Rev. Guyton Montgomery officiating.
Mr. Carr attended Ackerman Church of Christ, a carpenter and served in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Carr was a resident of Choctaw County, MS and his birthday was April 15, 1937. He passed away at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus, MS on November 3, 2013.
Survivors include son, Mark Bridges of Jackson; daughters, Amanda Benefield of Oklahoma City, OK, Cindy Lambert of Alexandria, TN; brother, Bill Carr of Ackerman; sisters, June Goodwin of Arkadelphia, Ark, Ann Martin of Harrison, Ark; seven grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
