Mr. Olyn Rudolph Hill, age 83, passed away Friday, January 10, 2014, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus, Miss. Visitation will be on January 14 from 11:00 to 12:00 PM with services at 12:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, with Bro. Raymond Spann officiating. Interment will be in Forest Cemetery in Ethelsville, Ala. under the direction of Lowndes Funeral Home.
Mr. Hill was born on July 30, 1930 in Louisville, Miss. He was married to Ivy Jean Fulton on January 10, 1949, in Louisville. He was the owner of Hill’s Electric and Plumbing for 57 years. He was a member of Sovereign Grace Baptist Church of Columbus. He loved deer hunting and tinkering with his tractors.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Ivy Jean, one son, Olyn Dwayne (Butch) Hill of Columbus; one daughter, Norma (Jerry) Nayman of Quitman, Miss.; two sisters, Glenda Hill Woodruff of Louisville; Fannie Merle Clark of Lake, Miss.; two brothers, Roland (Jeanette) Hill of Columbus; and Ralph (Wanda) Hill of Shawnie, Okla; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Hubbard Hill and Eva Pearl Eaves Hill.
