Mr. Thomas Randle Reed, 71, died Monday, June 30, 2014, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus, MS. Funeral services were held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, July 3rd, at Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. Kent Yarbrough, Rev. Jim Garner, and Mr. Joe Reed officiating. Interment was in Murphy Creek Cemetery. Porter Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Reed was born December 14, 1942, in Louisville, MS. He was a graduate of Nanih Waiya High School, and a self-employed mechanic and trucking business owner. He retired from Waters Truck and Tractor Company, and served in the Mississippi National Guard. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kay Coward Reed; and his parents, Mavis Loyd Reed and Tommie Reed.
He is survived by his daughters, Jenny (Justin) Caldwell of Columbus, MS and Shara Reed of Brandon, MS; his son, Eric Reed of Louisville, MS; one sister, Deanie Luke of Louisville, MS; six brothers, Billy Frank (Anna) Reed of Louisville, MS, Bobby Earl (Sandra) Reed of Vicksburg, MS, Jerry (Glenda) Reed of Louisville, MS, Joe Lynn Reed of Starkville, MS, Dannie (Connie) Reed of Ackerman, MS, and Gene (Sherri) Reed of Louisville, MS; and two grandchildren, Thomas Russell Caldwell and Bacy Reed Caldwell.
His brothers served as pallbearers.
