The Blooming of Hope

Ward 2 Alderwoman Judy McLeod displays a photo of sunflowers from her home. McLeod was given the idea to name the sunflower the city sunflower by women in her church. While thinking on the idea and how the flower could relate to the town, she saw this picture in her kitchen and gave her some sense of what the sunflower means to the community. The Board of Aldermen named the sunflower the city flower during its Jan. 20, 2015 meeting.

Mississippi Pilots attend 27th Annual Convention

The Pilot Club of Louisville recently shared their signature project, BrainMinders, with students at Grace Christian and Noxapater Attendance Center.  With an emphasis on protecting the brain, puppets such as Brave Bob Beagle, Hero Horse,  and Wise Old Owl stressed the importance of "Play Safe.  Play Smart".  Employees from The Mississippi Department of Rehabilitation Services were on hand to distribute helmets to all students.
