With dozens of children lined up, Winston County help celebrate the kick off of the 4th of July weekend with its annual Red, White and Blue Children’s parade.
Children from a few months of age to 12 years old biked, triked, and were pulled in wagons and other patriotic decorated transportation as part of the parade.
The parade participants wound down Main Street and part of North Court to finish up with a snack and drinks provided by the Wrinkled Roosters Club.
“This is an all round great event to not only celebrate our country but to celebrate our community,” said Winston County Chamber Director Linda Skelton.
Following the parade, the Annual Fireworks Display was held at Lake Tiak O’Khata and a large crowd attended.
Sponsors for the event were:
Lake Tiak-O’Khata, Winston Medical Center, Winston County Journal, Beck Funeral Home, Broaddus & Associates, Dihann McCullough Realty, Andy Wood Realty, Woods Grocery, The Louisville Bankers Assc, M& N Computers, Polo Custom Products, Custom Air, Judy McLeod, Julie Cunningham, Kim Ming, Larry Woodward, and Michael Evans.

The dozens of children who participated seemed to have a good time with some being a little camera shy.
