The Louisville Police Department held a swearing in Nov. 7 for its newest officer.
Ty Hardin, 22, joined the LPD ranks recently and was excited to be on the force.
“When I was little I wanted to be a police officer,” said Hardin who noted his aunt formerly served on the LPD and now served on the Columbus Police Force.
Prior to joining the police force, Hardin has worked in various capacity for the city including for parks and recreations, volunteer firefighter, and street department.
Hardin who was born and reared in Louisville had the support of his family at the swearing in.
