Reed to represent Winston County at Miss Hospitality

Raychal Ann Reed will represent Winston County in the 64th Mississippi Miss Hospitality Pageant, July 26 and 27 at the Historic Saenger Theater in Downtown Hattiesburg, Mississippi.

Raychal Reed is a Hall of Fame and Dean’s List graduate of East Central Community College She is currently a senior at Mississippi State University where she is involved in numerous campus organizations including the Fashion Board, the Shackouls Honors College and the Transfer Student Affairs Committee for the Student Association. She serves on the Honors Council, vice president of the Exercise Science Honor Society, Girl Scout Chairperson for Kappa Delta Sorority, treasurer for the Phi Theta Kappa Alumnae Association, and fundraising chair for Up Til’ Dawn, a fundraising organization for St. Jude Children’s Hospital. She also serves as an ambassador to the College of Education and was recently inducted into the Phi Kappa Phi honor society as a top award recipient. She is also the recipient of the Alex McKeigney Memorial Scholarship, a Presidential Scholarship, an All-MS First Academic Team Scholarship, and a USA Today Coca-Cola Bronze Scholarship to MSU. Reed has been named to the President’s List and has maintained a 4.0 GPA while at Mississippi State. She is involved in her community as the choreographer for the Winston County Distinguished Young Woman Program and in the Starkville community as a dance instructor for ACPA dance studio. She volunteers with the Special Olympics, the National Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, and the Winston County Library. Upon graduating Mississippi State University, Reed hopes to attend the University of Mississippi Medical Center to pursue a degree in physical therapy.

She is one of more than 35 contestants from across the state that will compete for more than $100,000 in scholarships and prizes and for the title of Mississippi Miss Hospitality 2013. These contestants will experience a full week of special events, tours, interviews, and rehearsals, with two nights of competition beginning on Friday, July 26 at 8pm and the final competition on Saturday, July 27 at 8pm at the Saenger Theater.

If she is crowned Mississippi Miss Hospitality 2013, she will travel the state and country promoting Mississippi’s tourism, industry, and economic development. She will also serve as Mississippi’s goodwill ambassador for one year, sharing the spirit of the Hospitality State with everyone she meets.

Serving as director of Winston County Miss Hospitality is Rhonda Prisock, owner of Fantabulous Formals in Louisville.
