The committee members of Winston County’s Relay for Life are working hard to make this year’s event the best ever.
The Relay for Life event will be held on June 8 in the downtown Louisville area in front of Citizen’s Bank.
“Relay for Life has been moved to this location in the hopes of drawing an even larger crowd than in years past,” stated Allison Shanabrough, Relay for Life Public Relations Chair.
This year the Relay committee is expecting about 20 teams to participate. The Relay committee are requesting all businesses on Main Street to stay open until 7 or 8 p.m. the night of Relay.
Shanabrough also encourages the business to find a way to donate to the Relay event and participate in the fundraisers and activities.
“You choose to donate a portion of your after-hours sales to Relay for Life that night,” said Shanabrough. “ There are many other ways your business can participate in Relay for Life. You may choose to create a team and host a fundraiser. Fundraisers can even be held the night of the event.”
Anyone may sign up a team at county’s Relay for Life website visit www.relayforlife.org/winstonms.
The next Team Captain meeting will be held on March 15 at 5:30 p.m. in the WMC dining room. For information, contact Brandi Krajewski, at (662)779-5111.
