From press reports
Relay for Life will soon be here.
Scheduled for May 2, 2014, the Louisville High School football field will be packed with individuals, churches, schools, businesses and healthcare providers who realize that cancer has affected our county and who want to make a difference.
Brandi Krajewski, Chairperson encourages any one who wishes to have a team to contact Amy Hillyer at 662-803-9026.
“We want to encourage all of our schools to form a team this year. Any teacher or group of students may lead the group. We hope that every school will have some type of representation the night of the event. Banks and other local businesses can easily form a team.,” said Krajewski. “It is not a lot of work required in starting a team. So many people want to do something but just do not know where to start but Amy Hillyer is available to direct those individuals to know how to start a team, how to fundraise, and what steps are necessary to take.”
The first step a person who is interested in forming a team can do is attend the Relay for Life meeting that will be held on January 20, 2014 in Winston Medical Center in the dining room at 5:30 pm.
The Relay for Life Committee will be there to address questions that you may have.
For more information, contact Brandi Krajewski at 662-803-4039.
All funds raised by the Relay for Life teams go to the American Cancer Society to help with research for a cure for cancer, services to cancer patients, and awareness for cancer prevention.
Relay for Life is in more than 5,200 communities and 20 countries. Each Relay for Life event is special to its community, but the movement’s true power lies in the combined commitment of thousands of participants, volunteers, and supporters to help the American Cancer Society save lives from cancer.
