On April 21, 2014, WMC Nursing Home Residents will be hosting an event about how individuals can help with the local animal shelter in honor of Prevention of Animal Cruelty Month for April.

“Winston Medical Center Nursing Home Residents want to make a difference in the community,” stated Teresa Fulton, Resident.  “We feel that by us sponsoring this event we can bring awareness to the community about animal cruelty, and we are able to give to the shelter which is in need of items,” said Fulton.

Barbara Yarbrough will be at the WMC Nursing Home on April 21, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. with animals from the shelter.  Mrs. Yarbrough will be educating the residents and staff about the  operation and needs at Louisville Friends of the Animals.

Residents are seeking any donations to give to the shelter.  Individuals wishing to donate may bring items by Monday-Saturday from 8:00 am until 3:00 pm.  The following items are needed:  39 gallon trash bags, paper towels, Clorox bleach, Clorox spray, sponges, dry puppy food, and cleaning supplies.

The community is invited to attend the event.  For more information call 779-5111.
