Sheriff and Crime Stoppers seeking robbery suspects

The Winston County Sheriff’s office is seeking suspects in a March 21 robbery of a business in Winston County.

The suspects broke into Mali’s Country Store on Hwy 25 South during the early morning hours and took cigarettes and cash.

A $500 reward has been offered through the Winston County CrimeStoppers program for any information that leads to the arrest of the suspects.

Drug arrest made in City

On Friday, March 14 the Louisville Police Department, the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, and the Winston County Sheriff’s Department conducted a narcotics raid at the Louisville Motel.

Demonte J. Rash of Louisville was arrested and charged with possession of a felony amount of marijuana. Rash had an initial appearance in Justice Court and bond was set at $5,000.

“The Louisville Police Department continues to work closely with other local and state agencies to curb the use of dangerous drugs in our area. We also ask the public to continue helping us in this effort,” stated Chief of Police L.M. Claiborne.
