The Shiloh Community answered the call from State Farm for a cause that would make a difference in there neighborhood. The Shiloh Volunteer Fire Department is trying to improve public safety by seeking funding for a tornado warning siren. Chief Jody Garrard states that his department has been selected as a finalist in the State Farm Cause an Effect program. Now residents can rally behind the cause and help bring $25,000 dollars to their community by voting via State Farm face book page from April 27 through May 17. Winston County residents are encouraged to visit the Cause an Effect page on Face Book and vote for the Tornado Siren Project. Putting a good early warning system in place can be the key to saving lives during sever weather says Chief Garrard. The Shiloh Vol. Fire Dept. tornado siren was one of 3,000 submissions that State Farm received through Cause an Effect. Only 100 finalist was selected to move to the voting stage including this tornado siren project. Cause an Effect is a youth led crowd sourced philanthropic initiative that relies on a local non profit organizations to create solutions to community issues identified by people who use face book.
