Slithering in the summer

Terry Vandventer (Snakeman) packs a full house for his program and holds a boa constrictor at the end of the program with some brave volunteers. The snakeman program was sponsored by Crowson Auto World. The Winston County Library has had a “Super” summer program with the theme Every Hero has a story for grades 1 through 5th. The 6th through 12th have enjoyed the theme Unmasked. Children ages 3-5 enjoyed story time with Mrs. Julie Chase every Monday morning in June. This is the “Little Heroes” program.

The summer programs winds down June 29. June 29th: Awards Day/Water Day, sponsored by Louisville Rotary Club. Children will enjoy being sprayed by the Louisville Fire Department, games, and the Sugar Shack Sno-Cone Mobile. The grand prize for children’s and teen’s reading programs will be a $50 gift certificate card donated by Wal-Mart, to be given away on Awards Day.

Thanks to many local business sponsors, the library is able to bring many fun and educational programs to children and teens during June.
