The University of Southern Mississippi held fall commencement exercises during two ceremonies on its Hattiesburg campus Friday, May 11. Southern Miss President Martha Saunders conferred undergraduate, graduate and specialist’s degrees at the ceremony, held at Reed Green Coliseum. Southern Miss alumnus Chuck Scianna, president of Sim-Tex, L.P. in Waller, Texas served as commencement speaker for both ceremonies. Dr. Mary Graham, president of Gulf Coast Community College, was commencement speaker for the Southern Miss Gulf Coast commencement ceremony Saturday, May 12 at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum in Biloxi. Approximately 1,900 students at the university were candidates for degrees this semester.
