travel to N.C. St.
for NCAA Regional
The Ole Miss Rebels (37-22) learned their postseason fate on Monday morning and will travel to North Carolina State for an NCAA Regional, where the Rebels will open up post-season play against the Tribe of William & Mary on Friday afternoon.
Ole Miss, the second seed, and third-seeded William & Mary will open the regional at 1 p.m. Central.
It marks the 18th NCAA Tournament appearance in program history and the 11th under head coach Mike Bianco. The Rebels have advanced to the regional championship game or further in six of the last eight NCAA Tournament appearances under Bianco, including last season’s regional at Texas A&M.
This season, the Rebels posted a 37-22 record and finished sixth in the overall SEC standings and fourth in the SEC Western Division with a 15-15 conference mark.

Former East Central Community College football players are encouraged to attend the first annual meeting of Warrior Football Alumni and meet new head coach Ken Karcher. The event is scheduled from 6:30 to 8 p.m. this Thursday in the Brackeen-Wood Physical Education Building on the Decatur campus. Refreshments will be provided.
Coach Karcher said the special program is being held “to celebrate East Central’s football past and its bright future.” The new Warrior head mentor also plans to reach out to the football alumni for support.
“The success of any great organization is built on the quality of people that make up the team,” said Coach Karcher. “Since being hired on Jan 26, 2013, I have spent time sharing the vision, mission and goals for the East Central football program. My desire is to create an environment that encourages alumni to be a part of building something special.”

at HCC in Goodman
The Jamilah Andrews Basketball Camp is set for June 17-20 in Frank Branch Coliseum on the Goodman Campus of Holmes Community College.
The camp for girls ages 8 through 18 begins on June 17 with registration from 7-8 a.m. The camp runs from 9-noon each day. Campers will receive individual instruction from Holmes coaches and players in shooting, playing defense, ball handling and rebounding. They will also have the following competitions: one-on-one, three-on-three, five-on-five, bump, hot shot and free throw. At the end of camp, individual awards will be given.

The annual East Central Community College Softball Camp will be held June 3-5 on the Decatur campus.
Activities are scheduled from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day of the instructional clinic, which is designed for third-through sixth-grade students. Cost is $60 per camper, which includes insurance.
