The Commission on Mississippi Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks swore in its newest member, Robert Taylor, at its July 20 meeting.
Taylor, a Winston County native and Vice President of Taylor Machine Works, Inc., will represent District 3.
An avid sportsman Taylor brings passion and practical experience to resource management and conservation. Taylor has worked at the family industry, Taylor Machine Works in Louisville, for over 30 years.
“I am honored to serve with a great group of commissioners and so humbled to work with such a wonderful team at the department. These are some of the brightest people we have in our state,” said Taylor.
The Mississippi Commission on Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks is composed of five persons appointed by the Governor, with the advice and consent of the Senate, for a term of five years.
One Commissioner is appointed from each of the five Congressional Districts as they existed prior to 2000.
The mission of the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks is to conserve and enhance Mississippi’s wildlife, fisheries, and parks and provide quality outdoor recreation.
